Each session is run by a Play Leader and play assistants, within appropriate staff to child ratio. All of our staff hold full Disclosure and Baring Services certificates and all the Playleaders, and most of our Play Assistants have trained to NVQ Level Three in Early Years Care and Education.
Staff members hold First Aid Certificates which are regularly updated, and all staff undertake continuing professional development and annual training each year, enabling us to continue to build on our knowledge, and in turn pass it on to the children.
Sarah Wallis - Manager, Designated Safeguarding Lead & Trustee
Hi, my name is Sarah!
I have been working at Threemilestone Pre-school for nearly 25 years and have been the Manager here for a long time! I also used to work as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant at Threemilestone School. I feel extremely passionate about my role in helping children to grow. Like ‘Red Emily,’ I love messy play and developing children’s curiosity to become excited about learning.
I have an unidentical twin sister who is 8 minutes older, and I have been blessed with my own set of twins who were born 11 minutes apart! My eldest, is an Engineer and his twin sister is in New Zealand studying to be a primary school teacher. Like mother, like daughter, I guess!
In my spare time, I enjoy travelling. I have visited over 30 different countries, including Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand and Borneo where I was lucky enough to work with orangutans, my favourite animal. I also like hiking, photography, cooking, reading, sewing, crocheting and watching sports, especially golf, football and rugby. Recently, I have even started watching cricket! ‘Red Emily’ and I are Liverpool supporters!
Kathryn Jacomb - Deputy Manager
Hi, I’m Kathryn!
I am the Deputy Manager at Threemilestone Pre-school. I live with my husband and our 2 grown up children. We also have two cats, Lottie and Molly who like to think they rule our household!
In addition to Pre-school, I work in Maternity at Treliske Hospital and help all the mummies look after their new babies which involves lots of newborn cuddles. In my free time, I enjoy keeping fit, crafting, going to concerts and spending time with my family and friends.
I love to holiday, both in the UK and further afield, and am very excited for our next adventure to Egypt in October.
Tracey Dunstan - Setting SENCO
Hi, I’m Tracey.
I live in the village with my husband. We have 4 grown up sons and at the moment 2 grandsons. For pleasure, I enjoy camping, walking, running and reading.
In 2008, I joined the Pre-school and later became the setting SENCO. It has been a privilege to be part of both the children and their family’s journey in the Early Years experience. Although this journey may look a little different than expected, we as a team, will make it as smooth as possible.
Emily Cadbury - Playleader
Hi, I am ‘Green Emily’ because we also have a Red Emily’!
I started working with children in 2006 when I began my training in Bristol. In 2011, I moved to Cornwall and in between bringing up my four children, I started working at Threemilestone Pre-school. Working with children is interesting and varied, you never quite know what the day will bring! We also have a fantastic team.
I love spending time with my family at the beach or playing board games. Food is a passion of mine and I enjoy cooking, baking and trying new recipes. I love chocolate and drinking tea! I go to Yoga classes in my spare time and it is rewarding to bring this into work, teaching the children. I think they enjoy it too! Books are another pleasure of mine which I share with my own children as well as those at Pre-school.
Emily Reynolds - Playleader
Hello! My name is ‘Red Emily’ because we have two Emilys and we are both Playleaders.
I’m so excited to be a keyworker and it’s going to be a new learning adventure for all of us! I can’t wait to get to know you, but first here are a few things about me.
I am married to Kelvin, and we have two children, and two cats called, Pedro and Winnie. My favourite colour is green although I wear red, the colour of Liverpool FC! I have worked at Pre-school for 13 years and I LOVE MESSY PLAY such as gloop, glue, glitter, paint etc.
Outside of Pre-school, I enjoy going for walks, taking photographs and the odd sea swim!
Ria Brandreth - Play Assistant & Deputy SENCO
Hi, my name is Ria!
I have been part of the Pre-school team since April 2018 and in that time I have also taken on the role of Deputy SENCO. I really enjoy developing relationships between children and watching their positive interactions grow because of that. I am always on the look out for new class pets for the children to learn about nature, life cycles and animals so I can help nurture their love for the world around them. Our class pets have included frogs, caterpillars, butterflies, fish and our current pets are stick insects.
I love my Pre-school family and have been an instrumental part in organising social events for us as a team to grow. I even managed to get the team to go sea swimming all year round, although Sarah only joins us in the summer months! We are still proud of her though!
Lisa Hutton - Play Assistant
Hello, my name is Lisa!
Having worked most of my life in the retail sector, I felt I needed a change and in 2023 I joined the Threemilestone Pre-school team. I really enjoy engaging with the children and helping them to embrace their pre-school journey. Like, Natalie I have just completed my Level 3 Early Years Qualification.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family, watching my children play rugby, exploring Cornwall, reading and taking part in Park Runs on a Saturday. I don’t have any animals but I do like dogs. My favourite food is chocolate, and my favourite colour is purple.
Natalie Gray - Play Assistant
Hi, I’m Natalie (I wear yellow)
I started at Threemilestone Pre-school in September 2022. I also work in Bibbles which is the After-School Club. I recently graduated from university and have just qualified as a Level 3 Early Years Practitioner!
In my free time, I enjoy going to the beach and surfing, as well as playing video games on my PC. I have a great sense of humour, and I love the chance to laugh! I’m a massive fan of Disney, especially Lilo and Stitch and Marie from the Aristocats! I enjoy learning new things and am hoping to continue my learning journey with all of you!
I’m a great listener and I love a good conversation! We have an amazing team working at Pre-school, they have become a family to me! I couldn’t ask for a better group of people to work with every day. We work incredibly well together, and we thrive in developing small humans minds in a caring, nurturing and impactful environment!
I look forward to getting to know all the children’s quirks, what their favourite things are and what makes them the happiest!
